Enolytics Sponsors 30 Master’s Degree Students in Data Science

This week we kicked off an exciting and unusual initiative, namely our sponsorship of 30 master’s degree students from Georgia Tech in their “practicum” requirement for graduation.

It’s unusual, because orienting 30 data science graduate students toward two real-world projects from the wine industry isn’t exactly a run-of-the-mill idea or event.

And it’s exciting, because we expect that the two projects we’ve assigned to the students will raise the bar even higher when it comes to technology and innovation for our industry.

We see, more clearly now than ever before, how technology can drive winery business growth. We see the value of “outsider” thinking brought in-house, and customized to the nuances of wine and spirits. And we see the multiple benefits of encouraging young people and career-changers in their educational pursuits and goals.

It’s a win-win-win.

"I am really excited to see what the next cohort of Data Scientists from Georgia Tech will be able to accomplish with our wine data and state-of-the-art cloud analytics platform,” said Ron Scott, Enolytics’ CTO and lead on this project. “When creative minds combine with advanced technology it creates an environment primed for innovation. Innovation that will be a benefit not only for Enolytics customers but the wine industry as a whole."

What does this mean for you?

Users of our system will benefit from even cleaner, even more functional processes. Specifically, our machine learning tools will work even harder behind the scenes to personalize your customer personas and identify wine club members at risk.

We’re pretty psyched about what these tools and processes can do already. But, like you, we also know that there’s always room to improve and grow.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to do that in partnership with Georgia Tech, which is just up the street from Enolytics’ home base in Atlanta. We’re especially grateful about passing along the “proceeds” from students’ hard work to you and your businesses.

Please let me know if you have any questions or ideas. I’m always open to hearing them.
