Is Wine Data Worth Taking Seriously? Harvard Thinks So. See for Yourself

Sometimes things come full circle, and sometimes that circle spins in directions you couldn't have imagined.

That's what happened this week, when the Harvard Data Science Review published my first academic article, about the the common misperceptions shared between both data and wine.

The article closes the circle on my past (Harvard) and present (wine), and it anticipates several things about the future (data) and the compelling directions that circle will spin moving forward.

The article is free to read here.

Here's the editor-in-chief's preview:

[The article] draws parallels between working with data and dealing with wine, and sheds light on the common misconceptions and challenges surrounding both data and wine. From the perception of complexity and intimidation to the belief that one must possess specialized knowledge to engage meaningfully, this article confronts these barriers head-on.

I hope very much that you'll click through, and let me know what you think.

Please also check out the one-day conference that HDSR is hosting on June 14 in Boston, that is dedicated to wine and data. The conference, too, is free to attend.

We'll be there, along with some of the most interesting thinkers and speakers in the space of wine and data. I would love to meet you there.

Thank you, as always, for reading -
