3 Favorite Takeaways from Last Week's DTC Symposium

Last week's DTC Symposium is a wrap but the takeaways, inspired by colleagues and ideas we heard, are still buzzing in our minds.

Here were our favorite takeaways, chosen particularly for this Enolytics 101 audience interested in wine + data.

First Look at Those 200 Million Ecommerce Data Records
Jim Agger, WineDirect's Senior Vice President, delivered a first look at key findings of our collaborative analysis of 200 million ecommerce records dating back to 2017. Here's a big one: The doom-and-gloom about the future of wine we hear elsewhere just does not bear itself out when it comes to DTC, which is its own ecosystem.

"If you are a wine dork and you want to succeed in this business, you need to be a data dork too."
Curtis Strohl, General Manager at B Cellars, said that in the panel about using data to its fullest potential. We're biased, we know. But it's nonetheless our favorite pull quote from the conference.

Shared Synergies
Texting to sell wine? We've been hearing about it anecdotally, and it's also showing up in the data as an effective way to engage and transact. It's a fresh take on relational selling, and we're super curious about the shared synergies with what we're doing from an analytics perspective. Please stay tuned for more on that.

PS We appreciate the positive feedback to last week's video of Enolytics users' success stories! For a shorter "sizzle reel" version (less than four minutes) please click here.

Thank you for reading, and for watching too —
