We Just Couldn’t Stand Hearing It Anymore. So Here’s What We Did About It [NEW VIDEO]
It was the sound of our colleagues hitting their heads against the wall.
We got tired of hearing it, frankly. It was painful for us, and even more painful for them. For you, possibly, as well.
What is this thing, when it comes to wine + data?
Running reports.
It’s a pain point, to say the least, regardless of the system you’re trying to work with. Running reports is complicated, we heard. It takes a lot of time, we heard. I CAN do it, we heard, but it’s like banging my head against the wall.
Oy.
It was painful to hear, so we’ve developed an antidote to the challenge of running reports, when it comes to both ecommerce data and depletion data.
We call it Advanced Reporting and this week we’d like to focus on the ecommerce version.
Here’s how I – as a wine person, not a developer person or an analyst person – see the advantages:
You make selections of what you want to see, and the report builds itself according to those selections. In real time, right there on the screen.
You have a running start, depending on your role. We’ve pre-set selections that are the most relevant to what you need to know.
If you’re the wine club manager, for example, you’d start by navigating to the set-up of selections that are most specific to you. If you’re managing all of DTC, you’d navigate to a different set-up of selections that are most specific to you.
Orders, Contacts, Inventory, Coupons and Gift Cards now have their own set-up of selections also.
With one click of the button, you can see the report differently. As a table, for example, or a pivot table or bar chart or scatter chart.
It’s pretty cool and easy to do, especially as a wine person (!). It’s pretty powerful, for anyone interested in running a business of wine.
This week’s new video shows you an example of creating a simple report – Net Sales, in this case, where we add in Channel, then visualize the results in the different table and chart formats. We also show you how to save a report you like, so that you can come back to it at a later time when fresh data has been loaded.
Those are the first few minutes of this week’s new video. After that, we get further into the details so that you can start to see how much is possible.
So much is possible. Without all the hitting of the heads against the wall.
We’d love to help you with this as well. Please be in touch, and let’s get started. My email address is cathy@enolytics.com and my cell phone number is +1.702.528.3717.
